Step 2: | Filter |
Step 3: | Churn |
Good out of the churn. Good but a little icy after fully setting. My suspicion is that ice is forming crystals around the coffee grounds. Either better filter the coffee grounds out, or consider more fat.

Step 2: | Filter |
Step 3: | Churn |
Worse than the original. Keep the grounds in next time. Also, take better notes. What exactly did you do to brew espresso? I think it was ¼ cup grounds steeped in cream and then filtered, but it’s very unclear. Maybe it was water that ran through a coffee filter, but that doesn’t seem like my MO. How did you get the grounds out?!

Step 2: | Filter |
Step 3: | Churn |
Good. Maybe better than v2. If I want to filter out grounds, most of them can be filtered out by just letting them settle out during the cooling/waiting phase.

I tried this because I decided that variant 3 had a somewhat oily mouthfeel and wanted to eliminate that. I really liked this variant. I also made this again with 12 Oreos chopped up and folded in. That was great. My housemate wanted it, and I didn’t bring it to the gym so she could enjoy it... but then she didn’t finish it quickly enough and I devoured it one hungry day.
